Flowcrete UK’s Hygienic Flooring Solutions on Show at Pro2Pac 2019
15 Jan 2019
The resin flooring specialists Flowcrete UK will be showcasing its ultra-hygienic flooring solutions that have been tailored to meet the challenges of the food and beverage industry at Pro2Pac 2019, on stand N1142.
The exhibition, taking place at the ExCel London from the 18th - 20th March 2019 provides an unrivalled opportunity for over 120 leading suppliers and solution providers to share the sector’s latest innovations and news with food industry professionals.
Taking the spotlight on Flowcrete’s stand will be the antibacterial polyurethane flooring range Flowfresh, which combines the strength, durability and resilience of polyurethane resin with the natural cleaning power of Polygiene®.
The Flowfresh range is able to maintain a hygienic, slip resistant and easy to clean finish for an extended period of time, even with daily exposure to steam cleaning, hot oils, blood, sugar solutions and extreme temperatures inherent to the food and beverage industry.
To minimise the presence of bacteria, and reduce the likelihood of contamination, every Flowfresh floor includes the antibacterial agent Polygiene®, a silver-ion additive that is proven to inhibit the growth of most types of harmful bacteria. Flowfresh meets the ISO 22196 standard, which measures a surface’s antibacterial effectiveness on plastics and non-porous surfaces.
Thanks to Flowfresh also being HACCP International certified for its hygiene properties, businesses implementing a HACCP Food Safety Program can rest assured that a Flowfresh floor will meet the high standards of the HACCP guidelines.
Crucial properties of the Flowfresh range include chemical resistance, slip resistance and durability, which not only contribute to a long lifespan but which can also be tailored to different working conditions depending on the task at hand.
Flowfresh’s versatility and suitability for the food industry was exemplified at McVitie’s production facility in Glasgow, which required robust, hygienic floors in different textures throughout its busy production room.
Flowfresh RT in bright yellow was applied across the main thoroughfares of the plant’s Line 14, providing a sanitary, slip-resistant surface for this busy, contamination-sensitive area of the site. The floor directly beneath the production line however needed to be smoother than the rest, to ensure that this hard to reach spot could easily be cleaned. The smoother finished Flowfresh MF system was used here to create a floor with the necessary profile.
In addition to its versatility in terms of thickness, profile and properties, Flowfresh is also available in a wide variety of colours. Choosing different colours for different areas of a food production and packaging facility can help to zone a space, further reducing the chances of contamination and clearly displaying safe walkways and areas of potential danger, where there may be moving machinery for example.
To reduce potential down time, Flowfresh can be applied very quickly and easily, which is ideal for speeding up construction or refurbishment programmes and getting a facility up and running as quickly as possible. To achieve this, Flowcrete UK has developed systems that can be rapidly installed despite tricky on-site conditions. This includes Flowfresh HF LT, which uses a specialist hardener to provide better workability in cold temperatures, which is significantly beneficial when coating large unheated buildings or cold storage areas.
At Pro2Pac 2019, attendees can find Flowcrete UK on stand N1142 from the 18th -20th March, where the expert team will be showcasing the Flowfresh range, and its suitability to specific facilities and requirements.
