Flowcrete UK has been shortlisted for three awards at the FeRFA 2018 Best Practise Awards.
The shortlist, which was announced last week, features Flowcrete UK as a finalist in the following categories:
- Large Industrial Project of the Year for The Macallan Distillery
- Large Commercial Project of the Year for M-SParc
- Innovation Award for Mondéco Rapide
The FeRFA awards, which this year are taking place at St Johns Hotel on November 23rd, recognise the very best in resin flooring technology and application from the past 12 months.
All the team at Flowcrete UK are delighted to have been selected for so many categories, which is a real testament to the hard work and commitment that the resin flooring manufacturer puts into all its products and services.
The projects that made the shortlist are remarkable showcases of what can be achieved with resin flooring technology when combined with decades of industry experience and highly skilled applicator teams.
The Macallan Distillery, which Flowcrete UK has been nominated for alongside IFT, raised a number of challenges, particularly because the floor had to withstand the demands of high-end whisky production while providing a safe, visually attractive finish for thousands of daily visitors. In addition to all this the project took place at the client’s idyllic but remote Speyside estate during a cold and blustery Scottish winter!
At M-SParc (also known as the Menai Science Park), a combination of Flowcrete UK floors was installed by Coatech to produce a unique floor area that reflected the crisp white colour and organically flowing lines of the site’s stunning architecture. The textures and patterns of the floor cleverly created a natural flow between the interior and exterior of the building.
Mondéco Rapide, which is up for the Innovation Award, is a robust, decorative and rapidly curing resin terrazzo flooring system. Based on an innovative technology called PUMMA, Mondéco Rapide brings together the rapid curing power of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with the resilience of polyurethane. This unique formulation enables Mondéco Rapide to reduce the overall installation time associated with epoxy or polyurethane resin terrazzo flooring systems by up to 75%.
