Flowcrete UK Attend BeerX 2019
29 Jan 2019
At the seventh annual BeerX UK exhibition, taking place on the 13th – 14th March 2019 at Liverpool’s ACC Exhibition Centre, Flowcrete UK will showcase the benefits of its Flowfresh range for the brewery industry from stand 56.
The antibacterial enhanced Flowfresh range from Flowcrete UK, designed to meet the challenges inherent in the brewing industry will be in the spotlight this year.
The Flowfresh range consists of solvent free, polyurethane floor coatings that contain Polygiene®, an antibacterial additive proven to inhibit the growth of most types of harmful bacteria that comes in to contact with the floor’s surface.
Minimising bacteria in any food and beverage facility should be paramount, but this polyurethane flooring range has many other properties that make it ideal for use in large-scale as well as smaller craft breweries.
The daily exposure to chemicals, hot water up to 90-95 °C, residual beer and yeast can easily reduce lesser floors to failure, which is why Flowfresh’s temperature and chemical resistance is vital.
The floor is likely to commonly come into contact with strong chemical cleaners required to clean away such industrial substances. This can include regular exposure to the phosphoric and nitric acid found in mixed acid detergents as well as sodium hydroxide used in caustic CIP cleaner.
The Flowfresh range aids cleanability, thanks to its seamlessness, meaning that there are no joints or gaps for chemicals or bacteria to hide in.
With the flooring having to withstand such challenges, durability is key to keeping the floor looking its best for longer. Heavy machinery, wheeled equipment and areas of packing and point loading can quickly lead to wear and tear on unsuitable flooring. The Flowfresh range’s hardwearing nature is designed to meet these demands, increasing the lifespan of the floor.
Several international breweries are already reaping the rewards of Flowfresh flooring. With malt being mixed at temperature as high as 200°C, Brooklyn Brewery utilised Flowfresh SR for the main production hall of the facility thanks to its excellent thermal cycling and thermal shock resistance.
Flowfresh SR was also chosen by the White Rabbit Brewery in Australia in order to meet the client’s practical and aesthetic needs. The seamless nature of the system was necessary to keep the busy production area clean and free from contaminants, as visitors would be taking tours around the open-plan brewery.
For the second year in a row, BeerX UK will be hosted at Liverpool’s ACC Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 13th to Thursday 14th March. Open to SIBA member and non-member breweries alike, as well as representatives from brewing industry businesses and the media, attendees can expect expert workshops, panel debates, networking opportunities and industry news from suppliers and services.
