An online retail giant expanded to Liverpool by opening a new fulfilment centre. The 850,000 sq ft distribution warehouse which opened last year created many job positions and opportunities across a wide range of disciplines for residents in Liverpool. Flowcrete’s experience in flooring systems was instrumental to the development of the new building. Flowcrete has a long-standing history in screeds and resin flooring technologies and our experience in the industry is what gives contractors and architects confidence to work with us.
When Flowcrete was called upon to support the warehouse project, our quick response and turnaround time were key to winning the specification and contract. Flowcrete provided a full flooring system solution that ensures the warehouse will be protected underfoot for many years to come. It was important for the new building to have a reliable flooring system that could withstand the modern operations and logistics that the distribution centre needed to accommodate.
Over the years, Flowcrete has implemented its market-leading flooring systems in a variety of industrial and commercial environments. Our tried and tested flooring systems are guaranteed to deliver every time. Working in partnership with our approved installers, we ensure our high-quality standards are maintained. Our partners ensure correct installation of our products which result in successful construction projects.
The first part of the flooring installation saw approximately 1600m2 of Flowcrete’s Hydraseal DPM applied. Designed to withstand moisture vapour from substrates, this solvent and water free, epoxy resin, liquid applied surface damp proof membrane has excellent adhesion, providing a secure bond to concrete and screed substrates.
This was followed by the application of Flowscreed Industrial Top which is a pump applied floor topping particularly used for fast track renovation of floors in warehouses, and other areas where a hardwearing level floor is needed. To seal this, Flowseal EPW was then installed – a water based hygienic floor seal for use in light industrial areas with a seamless finish that is easy to clean and maintain. The floor was coated with Flowcoat SF41 an epoxy resin floor coating system with adjustable anti-slip properties.
To complete the flooring install, Flowcrete’s PHS was applied to provide a very high strength floor screed as it helps to bond the material together.
Installation of Flowcrete’s flooring systems were completed in approximately 4 weeks, creating ample time for subsequent trades which were part of the construction process.
