The multi-use warehouse was managed by the Border Group, a large collection of privately owned companies operating over a 1.25 million square feet area in South Wales. It needed to transform the warehouse floor so that the building could return to operational activities.
The site consists of a complex of modern warehouses, manufacturing properties and office suites, with work ranging from property development and management, storage and logistics, engineering and fabrication, large plant hire, timber and sawmilling to broadcasting and PR
To repair, protect and transform the 5,500m² of cracked, uneven and fire damaged warehouse floor several Flowcrete UK products were used. Isocrete Primer was applied first to seal the substrate and pvent air bubbles migrating to the surface. The self levelling screed base Isocrete SL Base was then put down. This solution was chosen as it is designed specifically for uneven floors and creates a smooth, level surface.
The next stage was to use Flowcscreed Industrial Top so that the floor topping was strong, durable and level. For a seamless, attractive and hardwearing finish Flowcoat SF41 was then applied, which is also chemical and abrasion resistant.
The final element of the floor’s transformation was putting down yellow demarcation lines to mark out bays and storage areas.
