Flowcrete has been involved in the construction of Europe's biggest ever shopping development, Westfield London - which is set to play its part in a massive £1.6bn regeneration of the area.

Located in the trendy Shepherd's Bush district of West London, the new centre, which is expected to rival even Oxford Street, houses an atrium for live events, 265 shops, 15 restaurants, a cinema as well as other leisure facilities. A new Tube station, two bus terminals and a railway will also service the site playing a part in the wider infrastructure of the project.

Flowcrete's colourful car park deck coating system, Deckshield, has been installed across all levels of the mall's underground multi-storey car park - ensuring that fashionistas flocking to the complex kick off the retail experience on a good footing.

Westfield's modern and spacious car parking facility, which boasts its very own vehicle management system, indicating whether a space is vacant (green light), occupied (red light), exclusively for disabled (blue light) or for parents with prams (orange light) as well as valet parking and electric car recharging bays, has a total of 4,500 parking spaces across three levels.

Deckshield was specified for the project not only on account of its ability to enhance visual appearance but also to improve light reflectivity, eliminate water ingress into the concrete structure as well as reduce noise from tyre squeal. Deckshield comes complete with a highly accredited fire rating and is available in a decorative range of colours alongside the option to create bright demarcation and informative signage which in turn helps to regulate traffic movement.
